Illustration (Honor) students work to establish their own personal style through selective use of the elements of art and principles of design. Projects focus on developing the ability to express a point of view and show personal vision. Students use their powers of observation, abstraction, invention, and expression with a variety of media, materials and techniques. A personal sketchbook is required with homework assignments based on observational drawing. Students work towards building their portfolios for college. This full year course is offered every other year, alternating with Advanced Drawing & Painting, for students in grades 11 & 12 who have successfully completed Art 1 & 2.
